Our Intensive Treatment Program >>

one on one trainingNPRS Group Counseling
Our intensive treatment program is what separates NPRS from other rehabilitation programs. It is a comprehensive approach to cognitive rehabilitation. It’s an opportunity to work on both cognitive difficulties that come from a brain injury (such as: attention, memory, behavioral control and problem-solving) as well as to address many of the emotional problems that accompany such a challenge. The treatment is holistic in approach and takes place in the context of a therapeutic community. The Goals of Treatment in this program are aimed at enabling the person to regain themselves, to the highest degree possible by:

  • Gaining competence and independence in self-care activities, living arrangement, and in managing one’s personal affairs.
  • Changing maladaptive behaviors.
  • Relearning social and interpersonal skills that the injury might have affected.
  • Becoming more efficient and successful in performing school and/or work related activities.
  • Achieving stable emotional adjustment that includes: acceptance of the changes brought about by the brain injury, maintenance of a positive outlook on the future, and the improvement of self-esteem.
